Our Flight Case Story

The directors of 3D Cases have a history in flight case design stretching back over 35 years. In those early days flight cases were produced with materials that were readily available at the local hardware store, which, whilst offering protection these early flight cases were unsuitable for life on the road as the tours became bigger, longer and visited just about every major city in the world.

The lads (as they were then) soon started to improve the design of flight case hardware, custom aluminium extrusions, recessed fittings, GRP laminates and a whole host of other flight case fittings and manufacturing methods. They found with these new improved flight cases that they were now manufacturing were in high demand, with the company going from strength to strength. R&D continued, wheels were tested and rejected, catches were manufactured and refined as were the recessed handles and every other flight case component. Over the years each piece of the puzzle was tested and refined until the flight case that we know today emerged.

Today, 3D flight cases are the result of many years of feedback from the continuous touring undertaken by major globally renowned artists. With the latest modern materials always offering new and unknown possibilities, the testing and refining continues in the quest for the ultimate flight case.

3D Flight Cases supply the most advanced flight cases and portable 19" server rack cases of today, designed and constructed to withstand the rigors of a life on the move by air, sea, rail or road and even the odd camel. The flight case started as a rock ‘n’ roll product that has been embraced by all manner of industries and services, from protecting ancient master pieces for museums and art galleries to the safe transportation of the latest IT and communication equipment along with safeguarding against vibration and knocks for cameras on their way to the launch pads around the globe.
